Ahoy Matey! “Five Songs of the Sea” is a musical impression of the emotional memories often reflected upon in great tales of the sea. We start our tale with the christening of a new ship. Sailors part with their loved ones, but quickly we're immersed in the joy of hoisting the sails as the crew works together to harness the wind. Soon, we find ourselves adrift in “The Sargasso Sea”. The wind having failed, our crew is lulled into thoughts of home. A feeling even we land lubbers can relate to. Finally, our voyage comes to its conclusion as our ship returns to port with solo tuba leading the crew in the old sea shanty “Bully in the Alley”.
