Based on the folk song Tono de Volorio de Cruz, this piece has a somber story to tell in a constantly evolving rhythmic urgency. 
    The individual parts are not extremely difficult from a technical aspect but the nature of the metric evolution is for mature players.
    The piece can be performed with three marimbas by having player one and four share a five octave marimba. Sections of part four will need to be performed up an octave without a five octave.
